GENEALOGICAL RESEARCH This is where we define and publish the research findings regarding our family's ancestry, lineage and history. The objective is to make our family records more accurate, comprehensive and qualitative. Thus, if you have some information regarding the projects listed below (or some other significant information about the family's genealogy), please email to: acelot88@yahoo.com.
RESEARCH PROJECTS ~ SUMMARY 1. Ancestral Parents
(Posted: 04/16/06; Last updated 07/04/13
)
- Agustin Y. Lotuaco; 1929 Alumni - Doctor of Medicine RESEARCH PROJECTS ~ DETAILS 1. Ancestral Parents (Posted: 04/16/06) The ancestral father of the family is Camilo N. Lotuaco. What is the middle name of our ancestral father; who are his parents; and did he have brothers and/or sisters? Same inquiry for our ancestral mother.
07/04/13 Update by H. Lotuaco: Based on the verbal statement (presently
uncorraborated) of Ms. Nena Parial, a longtime resident of Gapan and whose family
have been closely associated with the Lotuacos since the pre-war (World War II,
that is) years, the "N" middle initial of the family's ancestral patriarch is
for the surname "Navarro", which thus mean that the maiden surname of Camilo's
mother is "Navarro".
2. 1st Generation Family Picture (Posted: 04/16/06) (Resolved 01/24/07) Individuals in the subject picture are now (as of
01/24/2007) identified. SEE: Ancestral
photo's caption. The photo's
member identification was formally made by Luisa Go Lotuaco to Horatio M.
Lotuaco.
3. Offsprings of the Lotuaco~Dalusong Family (Posted: 05/01/06) Nicanor and Remedios offsprings' (i.e., Jessica, Nicanor,
Remedios, Anna and Cynthia): Our records presently do not have the children's respective
spouses and children.
4. Lotuaco - Villanueva Family Relationship (Posted: 04/16/06; Last updated 07/04/13) There is a close and inter-generational familial relationship between the Lotuaco and Villanueva family of Gapan, Nueva Ecija. The matriarch of the Villanueva family was Aurelia Villanueva (deceased). Mrs. Villanueva have three offsprings: Remedios (deceased), Erlinda and Aurora (deceased). Eldest daughter Remedios Villanueva married Dodong Molano.
They
have 7 children: Marites, Ramon, Divina, Concepcion, Alberto, Renato and
Carmencita. Middle daughter Erlinda Villanueva
married Otong Tan. They have 3 children. Youngest daughter Aurora Villanueva married
a former mayor of San Isidro, Nueva Ecija. They have no child. (Note:
The above Villanueva information were provided by Luisa G. Lotuaco). 07/04/13 Update by H. Lotuaco: The family's 1st Family Tree documentation (made by the late Trinidad Magno. SEE: Item 7 below) was recently shown the writer by Remedios Malgapo vda. de Lotuaco. Based on the subject document's re-presentation, a new attempt was made by the writer to resolve the age old question: How exactly are the Lotuacos and the Villanuevas related? To do so, the subject families' parentage and offspring have to first be individually defined and then their downstream developed relationships (i.e., marriages and offspring) tracked and connected. The simplest and clearest way of showing the latter family relationships is visually with a chart (SEE: The Genealogical Chart below). We can now definitively answer the subject question. How exactly are the Lotuacos and the Villanuevas related? The Villanuevas' matriarch (i.e., Aurelia Angeles) mother (i.e., Valentina Yuzon) and the Lotuacos' (comprised of the siblings Luisa, Maria, Modesta, Agustin, Nicanor, Raymundo and Galicano) mother (i.e., Julia Yuzon) are sisters. Valentina Yuzon married Benito Angeles and they have one offspring: Aurelia. Julia Yuzon married Camilo Lotuaco and they have 7 offspring (i.e., the Lotuacos): Luisa, Maria, Modesta, Agustin, Nicanor, Raymundo and Galicano. Therefore, the Lotuacos and the Aurelia Angeles are first cousins. Aurelia Angeles married Getulio Villanueva and they have 3 offspring: Remedios, Erlinda and Aurora. Therefore, the children of Aurelia Angeles Villanueva and the children of the Lotuacos are second cousins. Note also that Valentina Yuzon had a second marriage to Renato Magno and they had 3 offspring (i.e., the Magnos): Lauro, Pacita and Trinidad (the latter being the author of the family's 1st Family Tree documentaton). Therefore, the Lotuacos and the Magnos kinship is also at the first cousins category; and the children of the Lotuacos and the children of the Magnos kinship is also at the second cousins category. In answering the subject question, we have also defined how the Lotuacos are related to Trinidad Magno and the Dayaos (i.e., the offspring of Pacita Magno's marriage to Panfilo Dayao and the children of the Lotuacos are second cousins).
Note: The above chart was Visio-drawn by Violeta G. Lotuaco based on the hand drawn chart made by Horatio Lotuaco. 5. Lotuaco Names-to-Connect
(Posted: 05/01/06) The following names are most possibly relatives. The
individuals are probably the child or spouse of a Lotuaco. It would make our
family records more complete and accurate if we could "connect" the names to
their respective family. Thus, if you happen to know the person(s) listed,
please email to:

6. Meaning of the name "Lotuaco"
(Posted: 04/16/06) A Chinese-Filipino engineer (born in the Philippines, grew up in China,
speaks-and-writes Chinese, and also a naturalized American), informed this writer (H. Lotuaco) that the name "Lotuaco"
is of Chinese origin, that the name carries meaning, and that one of those is
that the family originally hailed from the Chinese southern province of Fujian
(which sounds similar to "Fujien" and "Fukien"). 7. 1st Family Tree Research - Original Manuscript (Posted: 01/24/2007) Data collection and documentation for the family's genealogy was first made
by Trinidad Magno in the early 1970s. Trinidad Magno is the small child sitting
in the front row of the family's "ancestral
picture".
8. The Ancestral House Today (Posted:
03/01/2007) The ancestral house is where the family's children of Camilo and Julia
Lotuaco (i.e., Luisa, Agustin, Nicanor I, Galicano, Raymundo, Maria & Modesta); the children of Raymundo and Pacita Lotuaco (i.e., Renato I, Felizardo,
Crispino and Horacio); and the child of Renato I & Remedios Lotuaco (i.e.,
Renato II) grew up in. The house is located at J. Malgapo St.;
Gapan City, Nueva Ecija (Philippines). The house is believed to have been
constructed either during the late 1800s or early 1900s. When the house
was actually built and whether the Lotuacos were the original owners are
presently not known. Ancestral House's Recent Renovation (SEE: Below) (Posted: 05/01/2007)
